My graphic design boss introduced me to this is awesomely designed book by Christien Meindertsma that traces the uses and resources made from one particular pig, 05049. Meindertsma uses clever icons, graphics and smart design in this wonderfully and amazingly put together book. CHECK IT OUT. You won't regret it.

Summer Streets with Steve! Every Saturday in August from 7am to 1pm, 4th Avenue is shut down and becomes as pedestrian/biker/rollerblading/skateboarding/etc. only lane, from the 70's to the BK Bridge. It's AWESOME.

I love old photographs. & I love making up stories about the people in them, based on context clues in the photo (ex. photo: trophy in the background. = story: he was a great basketball player back in the day...) and random fancies that pop in the ol' noggin (ex. ... because he could FLY).

Notes: The watercolor images are old photograph subjects as well, that I traced over with tracing paper. None of the images are in fact related to each other. I just looked for images that could work together visually.

I was in a bookshop today with my friend and he spied this lovely book. It features photographs of miniature figurines placed in real life settings, but in such a way that the figurines, while obviously small, somehow seem almost natural in their larger-than-their-life spaces.






I really love the altered perspective, and how one can totally tell that the artist (please please please check Slinkachu out!) is having a blast!
